Samsung unveiled Samsung H1 social networking phone with Vodafone 360

Samsung with its alliance Vodafone has launched a H1 social networking phone Samsung Vodafone 360 M1. This phone comes with a 3.2-inch TFT screen, 3-megapixel camera, 1GB memory, HSDPA support and runs the new version (R2) of the platform developed by LiMo Foundation.

It is a modern Smartphone and we can see Facebook status updates. In order toad information to Facebook you need to go to the Facebook web page. That’s the full desktop web page, not a special app designed for the H1’s small screen.

Samsung Vodafone 360 M1 sparkles in black, white, and red. It is also outfitted with a 5Mp camera at back. Buttons and connectors run to an on/off switch and 3.5mm headphone socket on the top, a volume/zoom rocker.

The search button opens up a generic search screen which lets you track through the phone and memory card storage, Vodafone 360’s list of members, Vodafone’s online store, and Google.

The phone’s contacts and photos are automatically backed up to an area you get into with your Vodafone 360 login at www.360.com. We can view and share our photos with Vodafone friends. We can stay in touch with the buddies through SMS, email and can acquire our own name@360.com address.

India may soon have 11 digit Mobile Numbers

The Department of Telecom (DoT) has amended the National Numbering Plan to introduce 11-digit mobile numbers in the country. The current 10-digit numbers are likely to be inadequate to accommodate the growing new subscriber additions. In an internal note, dated November 26, 2009, DoT says, "The National Numbering Plan 2003 is amended for migration to 11-digit numbering plan in mobile services by prefixing digit '9' in existing two-digit PLMN Access Code." The mobile number has three components of numbering -- PLMN code, MSC code and subscriber number. The regulator wants another digit to be added to the PLMN code, which, at present, is a two-digit code. MSC code is a three-digit number, while subscriber number is a five digit code. DoT, which had planned to introduce 11-digit numbers in April this year, wants operators to migrate to the 11-digit ecosystem by January 2010. However, it remains to be seen if operators would be able to migrate to new numbering plan at a s...
